Dhoby Ghaut Cafe @ Sungai Nibong
Since it was almost 11.00 pm, we decided to go for supper! There were only a few places which open way past midnight. So, to feed our hunger pangs we went to Dhoby Ghaut Cafe. It is located along the main road in Sungai Nibong. Going in the direction to the airport, you can spot it on the left, just after the T-junction.
Given the limited space, there were a decent number of stalls selling a variety of hawker's food. However, tables and chairs were placed on the roadside; or should I say on the road itself? A typical Malaysian dining culture... This place is open even for lunch.Their so called popular dish is Koay Teow Th'ng (Koay Teow in soup). The price is RM3.00 per bowl. It comes with the usual ingredients like fish balls, chicken meat and coagulated chicken's blood. In my humble opinion, there is nothing extraordinary here. Almost every Koay Teow Th'ng tastes the same, doesn't it?
We also ordered a plate of Char Koay Teow from a stall selling Char Koay Kak. The price is RM3.20 per plate. It came with two big prawns but it was a tad too oily and spicy. As a consolation, the prawns were quite sweet and succulent. Overall, the Char Koay Teow was not the best we had in terms of taste and ingredients.
Cockles at RM3.00 per plate. Fancy any?
I haven't had any cockles like this before lol.
