Hong Kong trip 27 Dec 08, Day 3 (Part 2)

The Festival of the Lion King show tells the story of Simba. A leading lady introduces the show, sings, and tells the story. She also has two monkey-like sidekicks by her side who translate the story into Cantonese.

During the show, the stage itself adds some fire effects while the actors are tossing their batons.
The finale of the show is great. All four floats move to the center of the stage and turn to face the audience. Then the entire stage rotates and we can see as each float passes in front of us. What a spectacular performance!

After the show, we ventured into the next park called Fantasyland. There were quite a number of attractions here like Train Station, "It's a small world", The Golden Mickeys.. just to name a few. We only went to Mickey's PhilharMagic which displayed a stunning 3-D performance. It was really fun!

"Sleeping Beauty Castle"

Feeling rather hungry, we looked for food at a nearby eatery called Clopin's Festival of Food. They served BBQ pork, chicken or duck with rice, wok-fried items and other noodles. We ordered the former three dishes. Although the portion of meat was generous, taste wise it was nothing out of the ordinary. Without a doubt, the food here is a little pricier than a normal restaurant.

Disappointed with the mediocre lunch, we proceeded to the next park called Tomorrowland. The main attraction here was definitely Space Mountain! A thrilling high-speed "interstellar" roller coaster ride to the far reaches of the universe.. literally speaking. Haha..

It was one of my most unforgettable ride which was very unique from other rides. Remember to watch the safety instructions displayed on the screen before you board.

Space Mountain.. welcome to the universe!
Immediately after the heart-stopping ride, we strolled back to Main Street to get ready for Disney's Christmas Parade with the theme "Let it Snow".

There were nine floats altogether featuring Disney's notable characters like Snow White, Little Mermaid, Chip & Dale and Toy Story.

The star of the day was none other than Mickey himself and Minnie. Santa Claus made a special appearance for this Christmas parade.
