It was a Saturday and there was a lovely cool breeze which is just perfect. The weather that we yearn to experience all year round back home. We planned to visit Central which is the business district of Hong Kong and we took the MTR from Sha Tin station.
Although there were less commuters on weekends, we still had to go through two inter-change via Kowloon Tong and Prince Edward to reach our destination at Central station. Despite the hassle, I was impressed with the speed and frequency of the trains here. The whole journey only took us about 25 minutes.
The most prominient landmark in Central, Bank of China (BOC).
A very tall and spectacular Christmas tree adorned the business district.
In honour of Sir Thomas Jackson, Bart (1841-1915). He was the Chief Manager of Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation (HSBC).
Then we headed back to the MTR station and after a long walk (15 minutes!) through the underpass, we took the
Tung Chung line to get to
Sunny Bay station. This is the inter-change to the Disney train. Where would it take us to?
Disneyland of course.. :)
Since it was a holiday season, the people seemed to come out to Disneyland in full force.
Gifts & souvenir shops selling Disney's merchandise along Main Street.
We were rather surprised to catch these lively carolers who brighten up the Christmas spirit.
Remember to obtain the latest "Times Guide" at City Hall for all shows and characters' greeting schedule. The first park that we ventured into was called Adventureland. We managed to get the 'fastpass' for Festival of the Lion King show. Not to be missed!
While waiting for the show to start in one hour's time, we proceeded to Tarzan's Treehouse. It was actually on a very small island in the middle of a man-made lake.
The leopard that killed Tarzan's parents. Terrifying!
Jane & Tarzan inside the treehouse.
Nothing really interesting here but we had a fantastic view from the tree top. The boat that appeared in the picture below was part of the Jungle River Cruise which we missed.
